HOW TO SAVE FACE

DFF

Our research on possible litigation strategies to challenge the use of facial recognition technology by law enforcement and the judiciary.

Last year, we received funding from the Digital Freedom Fund - we talked about it here - to answer one question:

What is the most appropriate strategic litigation path to challenge the use of facial recognition technology ("FRT") by law enforcement and the judiciary in Italy?

Our answer lies within the pages of our new report, the result of months of research. The research focuses specifically on the relevance of FRT within criminal proceedings.

This toolkit is intended for legal practitioners, NGOs, associations, and other representatives of civil society. It provides a comprehensive overview of the legal framework applicable at the national, international, and European levels - accompanied by relevant case law - on FRT.

Are you a lawyer facing a potential criminal proceeding where FRT has been used?

Have you been subjected to identification through a system equipped with FRT (e.g., SARI-Enterprise) with significant criminal consequences?

Contact us: we can provide the necessary help to navigate the subject and identify the best strategic moves.

Together, we can strengthen the rights and fundamental freedoms closely tied to the proper use of facial recognition!
