Book presentation by Nicolosi at the CIRCOLO DEI LETTORI (Readers' Club)

On Saturday, April 1st, at 9:00 PM, StraLi presented "Il Gioco Sporco" (The Dirty Game) by Valerio Nicolosi at the Circolo dei Lettori (Readers' Club), in dialogue with Simonetta Sciandivasci and our Vice President Nicolò Bussolati.

For some time now, StraLi has been addressing the issue of migration and the countless violations that occur at the borders of the so-called "Fortress Europe". Exactly one year ago, together with the NGOs UpRights and Adala for All, we filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court regarding crimes committed in Libya between 2017 and 2021 against migrants and refugees, which could be classified as war crimes (and crimes against humanity) under the Court's jurisdiction.

(Here is the link to our website where we delve into the issue:https://www.strali.org/warcrimeslibya).

StraLi also believes in the importance of "being where we need to be", and for this reason, we have followed the valuable journalistic work of Valerio on migration routes, and with great honor and enthusiasm, we presented his new book.

Memorial event in honor of Moussa Balde

On June 4, 2021, a memorial event was held in honor of Moussa Balde, who took his own life at the Immigration Detention Center (CPR) in Turin while under medical observation. He had recently suffered a violent attack by fellow citizens. His only "crime"? Being a foreigner.

As StraLi, we participated in the commemoration in honor of Moussa to promise ourselves and promise you that we will do everything we can as legal professionals and lawyers to ensure that these administrative tools no longer find the distorted and infamous application they have today.

Screening of the film "A Just Cause."

September 16, 2020: Screening of the film "A Just Cause" in collaboration with the Museum of Cinema Association of Turin, Cinema Baretti, and Casa del Quartiere in San Salvario.

Why did we choose this film? "A Just Cause" (original title, "On the Basis of Sex") tells the story of one of the early cases of strategic litigation in America. It portrays Ruth Bader Ginsburg, an attorney (one of only four female justices in the history of the U.S. Supreme Court), who never gave up in the face of the legal status quo. Through her profession, she pushed the entire legislative system towards equality and justice.
